The Early Career Bioinorganic Chemistry Forum is Proudly sponsored by the
Chemistry Biology Interface Division of the RSC
Purpose of forum: The Early Career Bioinorganic Chemistry Forum is a new addition to the programme of AsBIC conferences. We aim to strongly involve the next generation of bioinorganic chemists by allowing conference participants who will be presenting posters to share their work orally with their peers. This will allow our early career researchers to establish a network among their peers and make the next step into the community of bioinorganic chemistry.
Oral presentations: The forum will comprise of 15 talks, three 15 minute and twelve 7 minute talks. The schedule will be strictly followed due to time limitations.
Where: OGGB5 (the Owen G Glenn building at The University of Auckland)
Panel discussion: Following the oral presentations, you will have an opportunity to engage with expert scientists from different parts of the world. In this session, the panel members will share their experiences and give advice to young scientist about finding/choosing a postdoc/research positions etc. This panel session will be approximately 30 minutes starting at 3:20 pm. This will be followed by refreshments until the conference opening ceremony. We arepleased to announce that the following experts have agreed to participate in the panel session: Alison Butler, Ulrich Schatzschneider, Fuyi Wang, James Hoeschele, Louis Rendina, Prinessa Chellan, and Peter Lay.
Prizes: For the best three presentations, prizes and certificates will be awarded at the AsBIC closing ceremony. Additionally, ten of the best talks will be selected for flash presentations in the main conference. These flash presentations will have separate prizes for best talks.
