We are happy to announce that Prof. Shunichi Fukuzumi is this year’s winner of the AsBIC Outstanding Achievement Award. He was selected for this award honoring his pioneering development of bioinspired artificial photosynthesis, composed of the light-harvesting and the charge–separation units, and the catalytic units for water reduction and water oxidation as well as CO2 reduction and O2 reduction.
Dr. Anna Renfrew and Prof. Ho Yu Au-Yeung are the recipients of the Graeme Hanson Early Career Researcher Award 2016. Anna is working on targeted therapeutics for the treatment of solid tumors, tuberculosis and resistant bacteria. Ho Yu’s research centers around selective synthetic receptors for recognizing biologically important small molecules in biological matrix.
The awards will be presented during AsBIC8 in Auckland, where all of the awardees will give talks on their exciting research.
